Yes! Our at-home DIY Keratin Treatments are safe for all hair types, including colour-treated and bleached hair.

Our treatments are designed to smooth, strengthen, and restore your hair without compromising colour or causing damage.

It is safe to colour or bleach your hair a week before or after the treatment.

We advise not to have a Keratin treatment during pregnancy, as a precaution.

We do recommend you purchase 2 boxes if your hair is very thick and past your mid-back.

In our salon, we offer three variations of Keratin treatments, ranging from an intensive straightening service to a light De-Frizz option.

Our DIY Keratin Treatment is aligned with our De-Frizz Curl Relaxer, a milder yet deeply conditioning treatment designed to reduce frizz and soften unwanted curl without completely straightening the hair.

This lightweight formula improves manageability, enhances shine, and leaves your hair looking healthier, smoother, and visibly straighter, all from the comfort of your own home.

To ensure optimal results, please follow these guidelines carefully:

Post-Keratin Care: During the 3-Day Processing Period (72 hours from the time you finish the treatment)

• Do not wash or wet your hair – the keratin is still processing. • Wear a shower cap to prevent moisture exposure. • Keep your hair down and straight. • If your hair gets wet, blow-dry and re-straighten the affected sections immediately. • Use only FMK Aftercare Argan Oil or Gold Serum – avoid all other styling products. • Do not use dry shampoo, mousse, hairspray, or any other hair products. • Flat iron your hair once daily to help seal the treatment, especially in humid weather. • Avoid using hair ties, pins, clips, or tucking your hair behind your ears – these can leave creases. • Minimise sweating, as moisture can interfere with the treatment’s setting process.

If you must tie your hair up, use a soft scrunchie or thick hair tie loosely, and be sure to flat iron those areas at the end of the day.

After the 3-Day Processing Period

Once the 72-hour processing time is complete, you can return to your regular routine.

All the restrictions above no longer apply.

• IMPORTANT: We highly recommend using FMK Aftercare Shampoo and Conditioner for long lasting results as it is sulphate/paraben free and compatible with our exclusive FMK Keratin Treatment.

• With your first wash post-treatment, shampoo your hair three times to remove excess product.

• Take care when swimming in salt or chlorine water. Prior to swimming apply FMK Argan Oil or FMK Conditioner to the hair and tie hair up in a bun whilst swimming.

• Wet hair with fresh water prior to swimming for an extra layer of protection.

• After swimming we strongly recommend washing your hair with FMK Shampoo and Conditioner to eliminate salt or chlorine build up.

Keratin treatments are typically recommended every 2 to 4 months, depending on your hair type, the condition of your hair, and how many treatments you've had previously.

The best part? Unlike many other smoothing services, Keratin treatments cause no damage with repeated use. In fact, because Keratin is a protein naturally found in your hair, regular treatments can actually improve your hair’s health, strength, and manageability over time.

For resistant, thick, or curly hair, it is completely safe to have Keratin treatments as often as once a month.

Yes! Our Keratin Treatment and Clarifying Shampoo have a 12-month shelf life from the date of opening.

If you have short hair and some product left over, simply secure the caps tightly and store them in a cool, dry place. You'll be able to use the remaining product for your next treatment in 2 to 4 months.
