Keratin is a natural protein found in our hair, skin, and nails. At FMK, our advanced, high-quality Keratin treatment is designed to reduce frizz, soften unwanted curl, and replenish and protect the hair. It also helps to repair existing damage, shield the hair from humidity, and can even support healthier hair growth over time.

For anyone who regularly flat irons their hair, has hair that they find hard to control due to the amount of frizz and curl or hair that has been damaged. Thanks to its smoothing effects, Keratin treatments can significantly reduce styling time and leave your hair looking healthier, shinier, and more manageable. Please note: Keratin is not designed to make hair pin-straight. Results vary depending on your hair type, texture, curl pattern, hair history, and aftercare routine.

To ensure optimal results, please follow these guidelines carefully: Post-Keratin Care: During the 3-Day Processing Period (72 hours from the time you leave the salon) • Do not wash or wet your hair – the keratin is still processing. • Wear a shower cap to prevent moisture exposure. • Keep your hair down and straight. • If your hair gets wet, blow-dry and re-straighten the affected sections immediately. • Use only FMK Aftercare Argan Oil or Gold Serum – avoid all other styling products. • Do not use dry shampoo, mousse, hairspray, or any other hair products. • Flat iron your hair once daily to help seal the treatment, especially in humid weather. • Avoid using hair ties, pins, clips, or tucking your hair behind your ears – these can leave creases. • Minimise sweating, as moisture can interfere with the treatment’s setting process. If you must tie your hair up, use a soft scrunchie or thick hair tie loosely, and be sure to flat iron those areas at the end of the day. After the 3-Day Processing Period Once the 72-hour processing time is complete, you can return to your regular routine. All the restrictions above no longer apply.

IMPORTANT: We highly recommend using FMK Aftercare Shampoo and Conditioner for long lasting results as it is sulphate/paraben free and compatible with our exclusive FMK Keratin Treatment. With your first wash post-treatment, shampoo your hair three times to remove excess product. Take care when swimming in salt or chlorine water. Prior to swimming apply FMK Argan Oil or FMK Conditioner to the hair and tie hair up in a bun whilst swimming. Wet hair with fresh water prior to swimming for an extra layer of protection. After swimming we strongly recommend washing your hair with FMK Shampoo and Conditioner to eliminate salt or chlorine build up.

Keratin treatments are typically recommended every 2 to 4 months, depending on your hair type, the condition of your hair, and how many treatments you've had previously. The best part? Unlike many other smoothing services, Keratin treatments cause no damage with repeated use. In fact, because Keratin is a protein naturally found in your hair, regular treatments can actually improve your hair’s health, strength, and manageability over time. For resistant, thick, or curly hair, it is completely safe to have Keratin treatments as often as once a month.

It is safe to colour or bleach your hair a week before or after the treatment.

We advise not to do a treatment during pregnancy.​ However, Nanoplasty is considered a safe alternative during pregnancy, thanks to its natural, plant-based ingredients and chemical-free formula.
